Palomar performs at the Empty Bottle on 8/11/12

I’ve been shamefully out of the habit of posting during this past year, but the good news is there are lots of performances coming up!

Palomar, the performing arm of Access Contemporary Music will be performing at the Empty Bottle on Saturday, August 11, 2012, as part of the Empty Bottle’s Thirsty Ear Festival. Our founder and executive director Seth Boustead launched a radio show on WFMT last year called “Relevant Tones.” It’s the first radio show focusing on contemporary music and hosted by a classical music station, and it’s been a great success so far. We are very proud of Seth! Next Saturday’s performance will be broadcast live on this show, and a few other contemporary music ensembles in Chicago will take the stage as well: The Chicago Q Ensemble, MAVerick Ensemble, and James Falzone. “Official” information is here on ACM’s website.

On Palomar’s program are a set of three pieces by Seth, two of which we premiered at the Zhou B. Art Center last month, a lively and intriguing piece called “Yellow” by Lansing McLoskey, a flute and drum duet I’ll play with Renee Keller called “Devil Dance” by Payton MacDonald, and the latest iteration of our Composer Alive electro-acoustic collaboration with sound artist Ben Vida.

The rest of our performance season with ACM is posted on their brand-new website.

Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you at an ACM function this year. You can sign up for ACM's emails here.
